It's almost St. Patrick's Day!! If you're looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend, or Monday, I'm here with a few ideas: ------------------------- [Infant] Rainbow Sensory Bags This was SO easy and helps with fine motor/cognitive development in little ones. Spread some plain (white) yogurt inside a gallon Zip-Lock bag. Then, drop in some food coloring in different spots. Next, seal the bag and tape it to the high chair tray. Your baby can spread the colors around and have sensory play without getting messy! (Cold yogurt holds baby’s attention best!) The best part is, if your baby gets rough or the bag opens, everything inside is edible and a non-choking hazard. (Just make sure you supervise in case the bag comes un-taped.) Click here to see it on my Instagram ------------------------- Just print this out and stamp their little feet! Such a cute keepsake from their first St. Patrick’s Day. :) Click here to see it on Etsy [Indoor] Coffee Filter Rainbows Craft Cut coffee filters in half and have the kids color them in an arched, rainbow pattern. Then, spray them with water and let dry for a fun watercolor effect! This is a great way to practice color order! Click here to see it on my Instagram ------------------------- [Indoor] Shamrock Fingerpainting This one is fun for the older kids! It's the perfect activity to use in a classroom and send home with the parents after school. Click here to see it on Etsy ------------------------- [Learning Game] St. Pat’s Day Math Game Here’s an easy math game for elementary or Pre-K kids. You’ll need green construction paper, dice, and a scrap of paper to keep score on. -Each kid cuts out a green paper clover. -Write 3 numbers (1-6) on each leaf of your clover. -Grab a partner to play with. Take turns rolling one die. -If you roll a number that’s on your clover, you get a point! We played the first to 10 points WINS, but you can choose any number you’re working on in class. ☺️ After every roll, I asked my son: “What number is that?” “Is that number on your clover?” “How many points do you have NOW?” “Who is winning so far?” He loved it! Click here to see it on my Instagram [Outdoor] Clover Hunt Craft Have the kids go on a “clover hunt” outside to collect clovers. (It’s extra fun to see if anyone can find a lucky four-leaf clover!) After they’ve collected a handful of clovers, have them stick the clovers onto a small piece of contact paper. Once they’re finished, laminate the clovers (so they’re sealed with contact paper on top and bottom) while the kids decorate their frame. For the frame, you can use popsicle sticks or a square of construction paper. Now they can bring home their very own sun catcher filled with “lucky charms!” Click here to see it on my Instagram [Snack] Green Shakes I blend up some orange juice and frozen spinach for an easy and vitamin-packed snack! It’s also great with mango, cucumber, peeled apples, or any other citrus fruit you want to add in. ------------------------- I hope these were helpful! If you have an activity that's a favorite with the kids, feel free to hit reply and tell me about it! I'd love to share with the rest of the group. :) There are a lot of teachers, moms, and grandmothers here that would love to know what works for you! Lisa |
I send out FREE printable crafts on the 1st of every month! Print them out to make with your kids or Pre-K class. (I take requests too, so let me know what you need!)
Good morning! It's been a LONG year so far, but we've made it to March 1st.... I'm not going to lie. I'm tired. My husband and I both work from home in Puerto Vallarta. We are extremely grateful and blessed to be safe and well with our kids. While the vandalism occurred in the streets of Puerto Vallarta last Sunday, we were privileged enough to be able to keep our two little boys safe at home with us. Our family and friends across Mexico are also doing well and I'm happy to report everything...
Happy February 1st! I know I usually send your free handprint crafts in the morning, but this weekend has been jam-packed so I'm JUST sitting down to the computer today. The boys and I got to cheer on my husband at a CrossFit tournament all weekend! It was SO cool to see him pushing himself and doing so well. And most importantly, our kids got to see him being a great sport, trying his best, and supporting his teammates. These lessons are really best when they're seen, not just told. I'm so...
I’m popping into your inbox again to deliver a surprise bonus handprint craft this month! This one is a little different... and very close to my heart. It features a sweet little character named Alex, sailing on a boat he made himself, with a motivational quote for your kiddos:“I can build ANYTHING. I just have to try!” You can download the free handprint craft here:[Download the free handprint craft] This one is close to my heart because it was inspired by something special my husband has...
